Prime Laser Technology is a manufacturing SME, founded in August 2006 based in the Technological and Cultural Park of Lavrio as private company.

Just two years later, in April 2008, the growth and acceptance of the market, leads us to the establish Prime Laser Technology SA, based in the Industrial Park of Keratea, in newly built facilities.

The main objectives of PRIME include:

Our greatest commercial advantage is as important for Prime Laser itself as it is for the modern needs of the market, as they are being shaped today, but also as they are projected to be in the near future: high know-how and extensive use of laser technology for the industrial production of solar thermal absorbers. Laser technology is a relatively new method, used in this production process since the beginning of 2000, offering homogeneous welding of dissimilar materials:

tubes: copper, aluminum or bimetallic (copper-aluminum)
plate: copper or aluminum

The solar thermal absorbers produced by Prime Laser Technology by using the latest laser technology, are addressed to manufacturers of solar systems worldwide (B2B). Our exports (direct and indirect) include countries such as Germany, Austria, Denmark, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Israel, Malaysia, Portugal, UK, Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, USA and Latin America.

THE PRIME LASER TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE

The shareholders of Prime Laser Technology have top experience, even long before the company was founded. Both in solar thermal systems and in industrial applications of laser technology, which is now developing rapidly. In the mid-90s, we demonstrated [1] the possibility of using laser technology to weld solar thermal absorbers, which until then was done with traditional techniques. Due to the technical and financial risks of this period (solid state lasers were not yet fully developed), it resulted in a delay in the industrial use of this application. And it was the beginning of 2000 when they designed, built, installed and used the world's first production laser system to produce full plate solar thermal absorbers!

Since 2008, the large increase of the copper price has made the use of laser technology the dominant production technology (versus ultrasonic welding) for solar thermal absorbers, worldwide by making possible to weld aluminum plates with copper tubes.

Following this course, Prime Laser Technology has the appropriate staff with long experience both in laser technology and in the integrated production of solar thermal systems.
